Anti-ISIS operations continue: SDF capture four ISIS members

The Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) Anti-Terrorism Units (YAT), in cooperation with international coalition forces, are continuing their operations against ISIS cells. The SDF Media Center announced the capture of four ISIS members in two security operations targeting one of the ISIS terrorist cells in the town of al-Shuhail in the southern countryside of Deir Ezzor. The SDF also captured 7 ISIS fighters last week.

In its statement, the SDF said that with the air support of the International Coalition Forces, it had successfully captured four ISIS terrorists who were involved in smuggling and supplying weapons and ammunition to ISIS terrorist cells, as well as preparing improvised explosive devices to carry out terrorist acts against civilian facilities in order to destabilize the security of the region.

Various weapons and military equipment, including grenades and rifles, as well as personal identity documents, were reportedly seized during the operation. “Our forces, in close partnership with the International Coalition, will persistently pursue ISIS cells to eliminate them and maintain security and stability in regions in northeastern Syria,” the SDF concluded in its statement.
