A Turkish drone targeted today’s afternoon a civilian car in the northern Syrian city of Qamishli, killing three people, including the co-chair of the Qamishli Canton of the self-administration of North and East Syria and her deputy.
In a statement issued after the incident, the self-administration of North and East Syria said: “These targeted attacks coincide with the self-administration’s announcement to pursue the leaders and members of the terrorist organization ISIS, and this is against the turkish desire. They do not want the hidden facts and hands behind ISIS terrorists to come to light.”
These targeted attacks come against the background of the meetings in Astana that began this morning between Russia, Turkey, and Iran to discuss the Syrian crisis.
