Amid the continuing calamity that has beset Syria after the inception of the civil war in 2011, many negotiation rounds and international conferences were held with multiple stakeholders to eventually find a politically sustainable solution.
The statement on the proposed solution was issued by the headquarters of the Executive Council in the city of Raqqa which emphasized the necessity to establish spaces for multilateral dialogues and talks between the Central government in Damascus and Syrian civic and social organizations and institutions. The aim, therefore, is the establishment of a democratic and decentralized Syria in which the rights and power shadings, and competencies of local administrations and subdivisions are respected.
Moreover, the statement also thematized current economic grievances, further stressing the Autonomous Administration’s (AANES) willingness to divide resources and wealth, such as crude oil, gas, and crops through agreements with the Government in Damascus. The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) also expressed its desire to accommodate Syrian refugees and internally displaced people by simultaneously fully dedicating itself to the combat and eradication of terrorism.
According to AANES „”The Turkish government has paved the way for deepening the Syrian crisis and dismantling the country’s territory and unity by supporting terrorist groups and changing the demographic composition through the settlement of people from different regions who are then solely used as tools, as these people will face the same inhuman conditions in the future.“
It was further expounded that the continuous tensions on the border with the Turkish State can be retraced to the aggressive policies of the ruling Justice and Development Party, which is why AANES intrinsically calls on all Arab countries, the United Nations and the most crucial political forces to contribute to the finding of a democratic and peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis by supporting the newly suggested initiative and facilitating the joint meeting and multilateral talks with all pertinent stakeholders.
