On Thursday, March 9, 2023, a Sudanese delegation headed by Mr. “Tariq Abdullah Ali Muhammad” Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy in Damascus as well as Mr. “Jalal Al-Din Muhammad Abdullah Baaqoub” diplomatic Advisor at the Embassy , and Mr. “Diaa Al-Din Rushdi Muhammad Hassan” an employee at the embassy visited the headquarters of the Department of External Relations of AANES in Qamishlo.
The delegation was received by Mr. Rubel Baho and Mr. Fener Al-Kait, who are both members of the administrative body, in addition to Mrs. Golestan Ali and Ms. Lana Hussein from the local YPJ office. During the meeting, the current situation in Syria was discussed with particular emphasis on the aftermath of the devastating earthquake and the continuous Turkish threats to the region.
According to Mr. Rubel Sudan constitutes one of the first Arab countries to repatriate its citizens from the areas of the Autonomous Administration, which is why he expressed his gratitude towards AANES for the joint operation and subsequently highlighted that he looks forward to further cooperation between Sudan and the Autonomous Administration.
At the end of the meeting, two women and three children from families of ISIS members were handed over after an official handover document between both countries was signed.
