A convoy of relief and medical teams provided by the Kurdish Red Crescent crossed the city of Aleppo last night, while another convoy entered the al-Shahba region in northwestern Syria this morning after the regime prevented them from crossing since the first earthquake.
The self-administration of northern and eastern Syria, the Kurdish Red Crescent, sent immediate aid to earthquake victims in Aleppo and al-Shahba but the Syrian regime stopped their crossing and demanded to take 80% of it itself.
The correspondents of the Target Platform reported that a few days ago the aid of the self-government – and eastern Syria to Aleppo after AANES agreed to the conditions of the Syrian regime to receive a certain percentage of the aid.
A source close to AANES, who however does not want to give his name told Target Platform: “We had to make some sacrifices in order for some of this aid to reach the earthquake victims. It is important that the aid reaches the people.”
Badran Çiya Kurd, the co-chair of the Department of External Relations in the self-administration wrote on his Twitter account, “AANES is committed to providing aid to all those affected without discrimination and under any name.”
