In a public statement, General Michael Kurilla stated on behalf of the US Central Command that the US is preparing for various aid provisions to those regions in Syria and Turkey that have been severely afflicted by the most recent earthquake on February 06, 2023.
He first of all expressed his condolences to the victims of the earthquake and then expounded that the headquarters of the Central Command in Florida have established a task force, one day after the earthquake occurred for the sake of accelerating the process of support provision to the affected peoples in Syria and Turkey.
He further emphasized that the US Central Command closely coordinates every step with the US Foreign Ministry and Ministry of Defense, in addition to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as well as the US’ partners in the region, namely the Syrian Democratic Forces and American Forces, deployed outside the US.
