The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria’s Department of Foreign Relations to repatriate German citizens
On October 5, 2022, the Autonomous Administration’s Department of Foreign Relations participated in a repatriation campaign together with the German government. The Foreign Relation’s department received a delegation from that Federal Republic of Germany, headed by the Director of Legal and Consular Affairs at the German Foreign Office Kurt Georg Stöckl-Stillfried, who was received by Mr. Faner Al-Kait, the Joint-Vice President of the Department of Foreign Relations and Khaled Ibrahim, a member of the administrative board in the Department of Foreign Relations.
During the meeting, Mr. Fener Kait thanked Mr. Kurt Stockl-Steelfried and the German Federal Republic for supporting stability in the region and the Vice-President of the Department of Foreign Relations in the Autonomous Administration appreciated the efforts of the Federal Republic of Germany to contain the dangers, emanating from ISIS members and affiliates that are still clandestinely operating within the areas of the Autonomous Administration camps.
Meanwhile, Kurt Stückel-Steelfried expressed his gratitude for the joint cooperation with the Autonomous Administration and affirmed Germany’s intention to extend this cooperation in the future regarding a repatriation campaign of German nationals, currently incarcerated in North and East Syria.
At the end of the meeting, the Department of Foreign Relations in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria handed over a number of women and children, belonging to ISIS members to the German government after signing the official handover documents.
